KEFRI gets new Director

The Board of Kenya Forestry Research Institute has appointed Dr. Joshua K. Cheboiwo as the new KEFRI Director/CEO.

Dr. Cheboiwo’s appointment takes effect from 1st April 2019, according to a internal circular dated 29th March, 2019 and released by Mr. Robinson Ng’ethe representing the KEFRI board of directors.

The appointment was done in consultation with the Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Environment and Forestry following a competitive interviews held on 9th July 2018.

Until his appointment, Dr. Cheboiwo was the acting Senior Deputy Director for Research and Development, a position he has held since April 2018.

Dr. Cheboiwo replaces Dr. Jane W. Njuguna who was the acting director since 10th December 2018.
