JazaMiti initiative is a presidential directive where Safaricom in partnership with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change & Forest ICT (MoE, CC& ICT) have come together to drive the 15 billion tree planting initiative commissioned by the President.
To aid in this initiative and document the tree planting activities, the MoE CC & ICT have come up with an App dubbed “JazaMiti” available on Google Play Store and IOS.
The JazaMiti App is a mobile app that facilitates and enhances tree planting programs by allowing users to users in selecting suitable tree species for planting based on their location, documenting, tracking, and monitoring the growth of documented trees over time to aid in Kenya’s vision of planting 15 billion trees in the coming 10 years to fight climate change.
It promotes citizen engagement in that people can interact through social feeds, share updates, and participate in group planting events. It encourages sustainable practices through tree planting, hence promoting environmental conservation.
It is a hub of information on tree species i.e. species site matching, their growth requirements, benefits, and ecological significance.
You can download the Jazamiti App for free from your device's app store (iOS App Store or Google Play Store).
Simply search for "Jaza Miti App," and then click the download/install button.
To use the app, you must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of 13, you must have parental or guardian consent to use the App.
There are no charges incurred when using the app. You need to have your WIFI or Data on when downloading the app from Play Store or App Store for the first time.
The App has an offline feature that enables you to access services.

No. The app is operative in specific regions, but there are plans to expand its availability to more locations over time. Check the app store for availability in your region. Species to Site Matching Module is only limited to Kenya.
